Ideas I had

I don't know who this is, but it's epic, I like the outfit much better than the other ones, it's still sexy but not gratuitous. I am reconsidering Ulala as well though, I like the outfit alot, but i've never been wicked interested in the futuristic scene, I've always looooved steampunk/ dark victorian, like alice/bioshock

So last night I was thinking about my costumes.

First, I was thinking about my Alice dress:

The reason that this appeals to me is that I have always been really interested in macabre of the Victorian era as well as the fashion and extremely dark twists on childrens stories. I imagined myself wearing this costume though, and I wasn't really into it. I think the reason why is because this dress is too simple, like it's sweet and kind of sexy, but my take on it would be to add some lace and corset-like ribbon accents.
Then this would deviate from the costume and realistic aspect, but I thought that maybe that was okay, like maybe cosplay is about really getting into the video game and expressing your opinions about the images and such and adding your imagination onto it.
So when I was looking at fabric for my Miranda costume I thought why not deviate here as well? I would really like to make it as true to the video game as possible, but I think that people will understand if I can't and I also think that Alex won't care as long as I'm uuber sexy. I think as long as I stay true to the type of costume, like the accesssories, proportions, ect and have slightly unrealistic fabrics if I have to, then making this costume is a big possibility.
Next step I think... is to measure my size, I think I have to measure around every curve of my body so that it can fit well enough.
Also, with Alex's suggestion I posted on 4chan for help
Here are some of the fabrics that I've been considering for Miranda:

$1.29/yd

For this one I was thinking that I would buy a light grey fabric, place this over it and then use some sort of spray paint or spray die (i have no idea how one would do this) and spray white onto it. But the shapes might be too small for it to be worth the effort
